Seas an Fód
Is feachtas frithbhulaíochta ar fud na tíre í an tSeachtain Seas An Fód chun tacú le daltaí LADTI+ agus is feachtas é a bhfuil CNT agus LCC an-bhródúil as a bheith mar chuid de. I scoileanna na hÉireann bíonn dhá oiread féinghortaithe i gceist le daltaí LADTI+, 3 oiread leibhéil na n-iarrachtaí féinmharaithe agus léiríonn os cionn 73% imní maidir lena sábháilteacht ar scoil.
Cuireadh tús le Seachtain Seas An Fód mar fhreagairt air seo agus is iarracht í a chur in iúl dár ndaltaí go ndéanfar breithiúnas ort i LCC ar ábhar do charachtair agus ní ar d’inscne, do chine ná do chlaonadh gnéasach. Ní bhaineann saol na scoile le cúrsaí acadúla amháin anseo i gCNT/LCC. Táimid tiomanta chun clár oideachais iomlánaíoch, uilechuimsitheach a sholáthar a cheiliúrann éagsúlacht ár ndaltaí.
Déanaimid ár ndícheall cumhacht a thabhairt dár ndaltaí roghanna feasacha a dhéanamh, dul i ngleic le fadhbanna agus na scileanna a thabhairt dóibh atá riachtanach le go n-éireoidh leo laistigh agus lasmuigh den seomra ranga. Is sa mheon seo a ghlacann muid páirt i Seachtain Seas An Fód.
Stand Up Week
Stand Up Week is a nationwide anti-bullying campaign in support of LGBTI+ students and is a campaign which LCC is proud to be a part of. In Irish schools LGBTI+ students experience twice the levels of self-harm, 3 times the levels of suicide attempts and over 73% express fears for their safety in school.
Stand Up Week was initiated as a response to this and is an attempt to let our student body know that in LCC, you will be judged on the content of your character and not your gender, race or sexual orientation. Education at LCC has always gone beyond the academic. We are committed to a holistic, inclusive education programme that celebrates the diversity of our student body.
We strive to empower our students to make informed choices, tackle problems and to equip them with the skills necessary to succeed both in and out of the classroom. It is in this spirit that we participate in Stand Up Week.
